While Rapunzel sleeps, Mother Gothel slithers into her loft to look for evidence that she might be in contact with someone from the outside world. She's searching for clues in the paintings which cover the inside walls of the tower, painted by Rapunzel as a kind of living journal.
While leaning over the sleeping Rapunzel, Mother Gothel whispers in her ear, "What are you hiding from me, my Dear."
